Hale Centre Theatre is a one-of-a-kind venue. Designed as a "latern to the community". It is home to hundreds of sold-out performances a year. Construction challenges were intense. In addition to an ambitious schedule, the below-stage space required excavating a pit 50 feet wide and 70 feet below in sandy, swampy soil.
Completed in spring 2000, in time for the church's April 2000 General Conference, the 21,000-seat Conference Center replaced the traditional use of the nearby Salt Lake Tabernacle, built in 1868.
In selecting building materials, the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints settles for nothing but the best. The same can be said for selecting contractors, the bar is set high on these projects and only the best is accepted.
